EV Charging Station Installation: 2026 Guide

April 10, 2026·8 min read

Why Is Charging Station Installation Important?

EV count in Türkiye surpassed 500,000 as of 2026. This rapid growth has multiplied demand for charging infrastructure. A well-planned charging station investment supports the environment and delivers strong returns. With falling energy costs and government incentives, average payback is now 2-3 years.

Pre-Installation Requirements

Before installing, you should evaluate electrical infrastructure, location and legal requirements. Check connection capacity, transformer status and cable infrastructure. You should also apply for an EPDK (Energy Market Regulatory Authority) license.

Electrical Infrastructure Check

AC stations need a minimum 32A 3-phase connection. DC fast chargers should be planned for 100-400A power capacity. If exceeding existing transformer capacity, transformer upgrade cost should also be considered. A typical DC station requires 60-100kW connection capacity.

EPDK Licensing and Legal Process

Operating a charging station in Türkiye requires a Charging Network Operator License from EPDK. The application typically takes 3-6 months. At ADZE Charge, we manage this process on behalf of our customers. The license application requires company registration documents, financial qualification and technical equipment requirements.

Charging Station Types

Depending on your needs, you can choose AC (slow/medium) or DC (fast/ultra-fast) charging. AC stations suit residences, offices and parking, while DC stations are ideal for fuel stations and roadside locations.

AC Charging Stations (7-22 kW)

AC chargers are low-cost and easy to install. A 22kW AC charger fully charges an EV in 2-6 hours — ideal for overnight charging. Installation cost is 60-70% lower than DC. Type 2 socket is compatible with all European EVs.

DC Fast Charging Stations (40-200 kW)

DC chargers reach 80% in 20-40 minutes. They use the CCS2 socket standard. Power options of 60kW, 80kW, 100kW, 120kW, 160kW and 200kW are available. Preferred for high-traffic locations. The modular design allows future power upgrades.

Cost and Investment Analysis

AC charging station installation costs range from 50,000 to 150,000 TL. DC fast charging is 300,000-1,500,000 TL. With the right location and pricing, ROI can be reached in 18-36 months. ADZE Charge's partnership models also enable zero-investment ownership.

Installation Process

A professional installation has 5 stages: site survey and feasibility analysis, project design, equipment procurement, installation and commissioning, licensing and operational training. At ADZE Charge, we manage all of these turnkey. Installation takes 1-2 weeks for AC and 3-6 weeks for DC.

Sık Sorulan Sorular

How much space is needed to install a charging station?

A minimum 1x1m area is enough for AC. For DC fast chargers, 2x2m is recommended. Plan extra space for parking layout and cable routing.

How long does an EPDK license take?

An EPDK Charging Network Operator License application typically takes 3-6 months. ADZE Charge manages this on behalf of customers.

What is the payback period?

Depending on location and usage, AC ROI is 12-24 months and DC ROI is 18-36 months.

Which type of charging station should I install?

Depends on your use case. For residential and office use, AC 22kW; for fuel stations and roadside, DC 60-200kW is recommended.
