Renault's electric family car, the Scenic E-Tech, appears on Turkey's October 2026 price list at 3,490,000 TL. And just as it does, things have shifted in Europe: on 11 September 2026, Renault unveiled a facelifted version of the model — bigger battery, longer range, faster charging, and Gemini replacing Google Assistant. In other words, the car on sale in Turkey today is a car whose next step is already公 known.

This article separates two questions. First, the hard numbers behind the Scenic E-Tech currently sold in Turkey and what it really costs to charge at a public station. Second, what the facelifted version brings — and whether that difference should change your buying decision.

The Scenic E-Tech sold in Turkey: the numbers

Renault Turkey's electric line-up consists of three models in October 2026, with the Scenic sitting at the top:

ModelOctober 2026 priceBatteryWLTP rangePower
Renault 5 E-Tech2,099,000 TL52 kWhup to 410 km150 hp
Megane E-Tech2,386,000 TL60 kWhup to 468 km220 hp
Scenic E-Tech3,490,000 TL87 kWhup to 604 km220 hp

The Scenic E-Tech's technical summary:

  • Battery: 87 kWh (LG, NMC chemistry)
  • Range: up to 604 km on the WLTP cycle
  • Motor: single motor, front-wheel drive, 160 kW (220 hp), 300 Nm
  • DC fast charging: 150 kW peak, 15–80% in 28 minutes
  • AC charging: up to 22 kW
  • Dimensions: 4.47 m long, 2.785 m wheelbase, 545-litre boot (1,670 litres with seats folded)
  • Euro NCAP: 5 stars; named European Car of the Year 2024

Here's what those dimensions actually mean: a 2.78-metre wheelbase packed into a 4.47-metre body. From the outside it's a compact SUV; from the inside it's a class above. That's the most tangible gain from the electric platform (CMF-EV) — rear knee room measures 278 mm.

One detail matters as much as the price for anyone who drives long distances: the Scenic has battery preconditioning, and it works through the Google Maps integration. Enter a DC station into the navigation and the car brings the battery up to its ideal temperature on the way. The classic cold-morning complaint — "it said 150 kW but it stalled at 60 kW" — comes down to a cold battery, and preconditioning targets exactly that.

How it compares with rivals (October 2026, Turkey)

The blank cells are deliberate: where we don't have a verified figure, we don't guess.

What the table shows: on range per lira, the Scenic is strong in this group. 604 km WLTP for 3.49 million TL is a better ratio than 609 km for 3.9 million. In exchange, it falls behind on charging speed. The IONIQ 5's 800-volt architecture covers 10–80% in 18 minutes, while the Scenic's 400-volt system takes 28 minutes for 15–80%. Those ten minutes are irrelevant if you take four or five long trips a year; they're a real difference if you drive between cities twice a week.

The Enyaq offering 423 km for 4.1 million TL is the clearest data point on where the Scenic sits. Same class, roughly 600,000 TL more expensive, 180 km less range.

Charging in Turkey: how many minutes, how many lira?

This is the part the brochure leaves out. We're using current operator tariffs: as of 12 October 2026, the average list price for DC fast charging in Turkey is 12.41 TL/kWh, with a band of roughly 9.90 – 16.49 TL/kWh. On the AC side, most operators sit between 8.00 and 10.50 TL/kWh.

DC fast charging: a typical stop

On the Scenic's 87 kWh battery, the 15–80% window is about 56.5 kWh of energy. Here's what that 28-minute stop costs:

TariffCost of 15–80%Range added (approx.)
9.90 TL/kWh (cheapest in band)~560 TL~390 km
12.41 TL/kWh (average)~700 TL~390 km
16.49 TL/kWh (most expensive in band)~930 TL~390 km

Same stop, same 28 minutes, same range — but a 370 TL spread depending on which operator you pick. On a long trip, choosing your station saves more money than changing how you drive.

The cost of 100 kilometres

Working backwards from the WLTP figure, the Scenic consumes around 14.4 kWh per 100 km. In the real world — climate control, motorway speeds, a full load — a realistic band is 16–19 kWh/100 km. At 18 kWh:

  • Public DC (average 12.41 TL/kWh): 100 km ≈ 223 TL
  • Public DC (9.90 TL/kWh): 100 km ≈ 178 TL
  • Public AC (average ~9.50 TL/kWh): 100 km ≈ 171 TL

For comparison, current data puts home charging on a residential tariff at roughly half the cost of public stations. So between someone who mostly charges a Scenic at home and someone who relies on DC only, the per-kilometre gap can be twofold.

AC charging: why 22 kW matters

The Scenic supporting up to 22 kW on AC isn't a throwaway spec line. Most public sockets in Turkey are AC, and a significant share of them can deliver 22 kW. A car limited to 11 kW takes around nine hours to fill 87 kWh; the Scenic, able to use the full 22 kW, does the same job in roughly 4.5 to 5 hours. An afternoon in a shopping centre car park is close to a full charge in this car.

The practical takeaway: charge the Scenic on AC whenever you can — it's cheaper and gentler on the battery — and save DC for the road.

A long-trip scenario

Take the Istanbul–İzmir route, around 480 km. The Scenic's realistic motorway range on a full charge is 450–480 km. In theory that's borderline on a single charge; in practice one DC stop makes it comfortable: pull in at around 20%, go up to 80% in 28 minutes, which is both kinder to the battery and removes any anxiety about the rest of the drive. At the average tariff, that stop costs about 700 TL.

The facelifted Scenic E-Tech: what Turkey is waiting for

Renault revealed the updated Scenic E-Tech on 11 September 2026. Here's how it differs from the car sold in Turkey:

Turkey (current)Facelift Long RangeFacelift Comfort Range
Battery87 kWh (NMC)89 kWh (NMC)67 kWh (LFP)
WLTP range604 km642 km467 km
DC peak150 kW150 kW165 kW
15–80% charge28 min28 min24 min
Price (France)—from €44,900from €36,800

The striking part: the fastest-charging version isn't the one with the biggest battery. The 67 kWh LFP Comfort Range peaks at 165 kW and completes 15–80% in 24 minutes; the 89 kWh Long Range needs 28. The bigger battery still wins in practice because it loads more kilometres in the same time, but it's a neat reminder that "big battery = fast charging" doesn't always hold.

The facelift also brings a Gemini-based voice assistant in place of Google Assistant, a driver-monitoring camera that detects fatigue, automatic profile loading via facial recognition, and in-lane positioning that works up to 70 km/h. The Megane E-Tech got its share of the same update: a 67 kWh battery, 493 km of range, 165 kW charging and 24 minutes for 15–80%.

No Turkish launch date or price has been announced for the facelift yet. So for anyone deciding today, the question is clear: wait an unknown amount of time for 38 extra WLTP kilometres and new software, or take today's 3.49 million TL price? With EV prices in Turkey trending upward, the odds of waiting and finding "a better car at the same price" look slim.

The invisible tax threshold

The Scenic's 160 kW motor output is no coincidence. Turkey's special consumption tax (ÖTV) structure splits EVs into four brackets by motor power and taxable base: 25% for 160 kW and below (up to a 1,650,000 TL base) or 55%; 65% or 75% above 160 kW. The Scenic sits right under the line at 160 kW — so it's in the favourable power bracket, but because it exceeds the taxable-base threshold, it's priced in the 55% band. This is also why so many EVs sold in Turkey stop precisely at 160 kW.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Renault Scenic E-Tech cost in Turkey? The October 2026 list price is 3,490,000 TL. An entry price of around 3.3 million TL was announced at the April 2026 launch; on the current list, the car is sold in a single trim (Esprit Alpine) from 3,490,000 TL.

How long does the Scenic E-Tech take to charge at a public station, and what does it cost? At a 150 kW DC station it goes from 15% to 80% in 28 minutes, which is about 56.5 kWh of energy. At the October 2026 average DC tariff of 12.41 TL/kWh, that's roughly 700 TL, ranging from 560 to 930 TL depending on the operator. On a 22 kW AC socket, a full charge takes roughly 4.5 to 5 hours.

What does 604 km of range mean in reality? 604 km is a WLTP lab figure. In mostly motorway driving, 16–19 kWh per 100 km is realistic, which works out to 450–540 km on a full charge. In winter, with climate control and higher speeds, expect the lower end of that band.

Should I buy now or wait for the 642 km facelift? No Turkish price or date has been announced for the facelift. The gains are 38 extra WLTP kilometres, new driver-monitoring systems and the Gemini assistant; charging speed is unchanged on the Long Range (still 150 kW / 28 minutes). For someone driving mainly in the city and charging on AC at home or work, that difference won't change the decision. If you cover tens of thousands of kilometres a year, waiting may be worth it.

The verdict

The Scenic E-Tech makes a clear case in the Turkish market: 604 km WLTP range, a 545-litre boot and 22 kW AC charging for 3.49 million TL. Its weak point is DC speed — the natural limit of a 400-volt architecture. Twenty-eight minutes isn't bad, but 800-volt rivals cut that to 18. The facelift doesn't change that balance on the Long Range; the real improvement lands on the smaller-battery version.

For the driver, the conclusion is simple: if you have a network where you can charge cheaply on AC and quickly on DC, the Scenic is both an economical car and a comfortable long-distance one — and ADZE Charge's 50-plus locations across 6 cities are built to offer exactly that AC + DC mix.
